Computerized Office

With the use of computers throughout the entire Schinto Dental office, we are nearly paperless. With the Dentrix software program, all of the patient’s information is safely stored and all digital x-rays are imported directly into the patient file. This produces more efficiencies in the office as the patient information can be viewed in multiple rooms by the patient, doctor and staff. Insurance claims can now be sent to your carrier in seconds electronically. We can also now offer online patient services, such as: requesting an appointment, updating patient information, view upcoming appointments, account ledger and more.

Digital Radiography

Instead of developing x-ray film in a dark room, the x-rays are sent directly to the computer and can be viewed on the screen, stored or printed within seconds. There are several nice benefits of using this new technology. This technique uses close to 90% less radiation than the typical film x-ray and there is no wait time to develop. The images are available on screen immediately after they have been taken. The image of the tooth can be enhanced and enlarged from its actual size making it easier to show you where and what the problem is. Images can be sent electronically to another doctor, specialist or to the insurance company for claims submittal.

Intraoral X-rays

Intraoral X-rays are the most common type of dental Digital Radiography. These x-rays provide great detail and allow Dr. Schinto to find decay, check the health of the tooth root and bone surrounding the tooth, as well as check the status of developing teeth.

Extraoral X-rays

Extraoral X-rays show teeth but their main focus is the jaw and skull. These X-rays do not provide the detail for individual teeth found with intraoral X-rays and therefore are not used for detecting cavities or for identifying problems with individual teeth. Instead, extraoral X-rays are used to look for impacted teeth, implant planning, monitor growth and development of the jaws in relation to the teeth, and to identify potential problems between teeth and jaws and the temporomandibular joint. Schinto Dental uses the Orthopantomograph OP 200 by Instrumentarium.

Intraoral Camera

Schinto Dental has the award winning Dexcam 3 By Kavo/Dexis as our intraoral camera. This camera gives High Defintion photos from inside the mouth, instantly to our computer screens. Helps to diagnose cracks, faulty or aged restorations, oral pathology and is excellent to show patients exactly what see. “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

Flat LCD Screens with Pendulum Mounts in all Operatories

LCD screens mounted from the ceiling on Ergodontic Pendulum Mounts in each operatory for patient education and entertainment. The Pendulum Mount™ is engineered to place an LCD flat-screen monitor in multiple viewing positions in a dental, medical or hospital setting. In a dental operatory, the rotational pendulum motion allows the patient, dentist and staff to view dental images and educational programming while the patient is seated upright, and the patient to view entertainment and educational programming while reclined with unobstructed and comfortably aligned viewing angles. When not required, staff can simply move the monitor out of the way of X-ray and other equipment.

Electric Handpieces

Aseptico and Kavo electric handpieces are used for reduced sounds and comfort. Presently, electric technology delivers cutting instruments that are more efficient than the old air turbines. Cavity preparation is quicker, more precise, and less traumatic with this modern electrical technology than was possible with air turbines. Moreover, electrical systems are far quieter. The characteristic loud noise of the air turbine should soon be a thing of the past and they are at Schinto Dental. Our drills are quiet, consistent, efficient electrical systems.

Satelec P5Newtron Ultrasonic Scalers

Satelec P5 Newtron Ultrasonic Scalers And Cavitron Scalers are in all hygiene operatories for better removal of tartar and plaque and buildups to help reduce gingivitis and periodontal disease. They provide smooth and virtually painless vibrations for patients with unbeatable comfort during all treatments in prophylactics and non-surgical periodontics.

Sterilization

Sterilization is on the forefront of everyone’s mind. Our two autoclaves utilize steam heat, under pressure for specific times. Each instrument, after every patient, goes thru a cold sterilization using ultrasonic technology, then is rinsed, baged or wrapped and then placed in the autoclave for the steam and pressure cycles. Each instrument remains wrapped until use. Tuttnauer EZ11 and Statim 5000 autoclaves.

Operatories

Each operatory was designed for patient and Doctor comfort while maintaining easily cleansible surfaces. There are ergo designed Midmark dental chairs with a patented wide back design in ultra leather for extra patient comfort. Ultra Leather is easily cleaned between patients using antiviral and antibacterial cleansers.

Itero

Our newest and by far coolest piece of technology is our intraoral scanner. The iTero Element takes thousands of digital photos, splicing them together to build a digital model of the patient’s mouth; eliminating the need for impressions. Once the area has been scanned, just taking a few moments, it is instantly delivered to the desired Dental Laboratory anywhere in the world. The Lab can then start working on the patient’s case that same day; with incredible accuracy. We use the scanner for Digital Crown and Implant Impressions, Denture cases, Invisalign, and Retainers. Retainers can also have their scans saved for when the family dog has one for a snack and new retainers are needed.
